Rieju Tango 125 Scrambler

New model variant presented

With the Tango 125 Scrambler, Rieju is launching a new model that should be of interest to owners of the A1 and B licenses, code number 196.

The R.ieju Tango 125 only made it back into the Spanish manufacturer’s model range in the 2020 model year. It disappeared from the German market when the Euro 4 standard came into force, and this year returned to Germany with a new look. Rieju takes the opportunity and is now bringing another model variant of the returnees onto the market with the Tango 125 Scrambler, which looks slightly different from the basic Tango.

Technology from the basic model

Similar to the basic model, the engine of the Rieju Tango 125 Scrambler delivers 10.3 HP at 6,000 rpm. The rest of the technical data is not that different from the basic bike either: According to the manufacturer, the Tango 125 Scrambler should weigh 109 kilograms dry. With fuel and oil, this should add around seven kilograms. Like the basic model, the Scrambler can also take two people with it, which is why, like the basic model, it should have excellent chances with motorhomes. At least in the past, the Tango could often be seen on various campsites. Rieju gives 1,330 mm for the wheelbase. 7.5 liters should fit into the tank. Pilots take their seats at a height of 830 mm. This means you sit on the Scrambler almost 40 mm higher than on the basic Tango.

The basic Tango differs only slightly from the Scrambler variant.

When it comes to tires, Rieju uses dimensions 90 / 100-19 at the front and 120 / 90-16 at the rear. For the time being, the manufacturer does not reveal the manufacturer of the series tires. A 37 mm telescopic fork is also on board. When it comes to painting, Rieju uses black tones with silver influences. The rims are painted gold. The round headlight has been upgraded with a grille, as is typical of a scrambler. The license plate holder and the handlebar mirrors have also been modified compared to the basic model.

The tango scrambler also comes to Germany?

On the Spanish manufacturer’s website, Rieju gives a starting price of 3,299 euros – whether this price is also called in Germany is not entirely clear, because the new Tango Scrambler is not yet listed on the German-language manufacturer’s websites. For comparison: The basic model is available in Germany from 3,599 euros. For a rather small surcharge of 36 euros, hand protectors can also be purchased from the accessories program, which further reinforce the scrambler look.

Conclusion

The Rieju Tango 125 Scrambler is not reinventing the wheel – nevertheless the 125 could be an interesting alternative for all holders of the A1 driving license and future holders of the class B driving license, code number 196.
