From the land of the art of milling: light, elegant spoked wheels from Kineo in Italy.

Down with the superfluous plastic

Pure and puristic, this Triumph Speed Triple is somberly called “Fleur du Mal”, flower of evil. It is named after Baudelaire’s poetry. Evil and yet beguiling, like a black rose.

Its owner, Jorg Litzenburger, is the organizer of the motorcycle festival Glemseck 101 (MOTORRAD 21/2013). His character machine made its first big appearance there in September 2013. A first-class polarizer.

As few high-end components as possible

The guys from Rock’n’Ride / Triumph Munich did the conversion of his 2011 Speedy. The idea of the project: down with superfluous plastic. And as few high-end components as possible. However, it wasn’t possible without precious parts: the style-defining spoked wheels from Kineo with accurately milled aluminum rims are extremely expensive, costing around 3000 euros alone. It’s not just the off-center spokes on the rear six-inch rim that turn them into works of art.

Bold and loud: Zard “V2” exhaust for the triple, with an aesthetic weld.

The narrow double-pipe exhaust from Zard allows a clear view of the elegant aluminum hub. At the front, the saw-blade design of the Moto Master brake discs should also emphasize the finely set steel spokes. A lot of work and plenty of ideas have gone into the martial machine. The license plate holder from Rizoma includes the 200 mm rear slider in a U-shape, like the Ducati Diavel, attached to the single-sided swing arm. LSL supplied notches and levers.

Have you noticed the lower instruments above the upright double headlights? Or the hidden micro-indicators? The ignition lock in the frame triangle? Or the bright heat band around the three exhaust manifolds?

The paintwork is a constant change from matt and gloss black. Take a seat. The wide solo saddle, the inviting, free-floating seat hollow of the Munich saddler specialist Sam, integrates you sucking. This seating position is compact, broad-shouldered, confident, upright and sublime.

Wrrroooaaarrr! The three-in-one-in-two exhaust cuts the silence. It’s roaring loud because of Glemseck 101. There this Speedy had to make itself heard among hundreds of machines as the official event motorcycle. Reason for Rock’n’Ride,
omit the front silencer. With an intermediate pipe, the full-sounding Zard exhaust should also sound STVO-compliant, according to the builder.

Tuning Pope Ulf Penner gave the three-cylinder sharper camshafts and a new mapping, because the exhaust tends to reduce performance due to its low volume. The fine tuning for the partial load range was then done by Armand Mottier from Micron Systems in Nuremberg. Well done: The modified triple hangs on the gas precisely and precisely. He already floods the speed basement with a torque plus: five to 15 Newton meters more from 2800 and 5500 tours.

"God drives Harley, the devil triumphs"

This triple, which is always present, tears powerfully, makes your arms long even at low revs. Class! It is also geared one tooth shorter for maximum liveliness; turns at 100 km / h only 4000 rpm. Therefore, the Tuning Triple sends more power to the rear wheel than the series at any speed. And increases in revving pleasure as well as top performance, swings up to a remarkable 145 hp at 9400 tours.

The driving pleasure is really high. Well, only 212 kilograms mean nine less than before the conversion. The wide LSL handlebars promote handling: For a 200 mm rear tire, this Pitbull turns really easily on wheels. Warmed up, the Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact are a fulfillment in terms of liability. You can always playfully find the right line on level asphalt. The series chassis acts tight, hard, but warm. Fits perfectly with the masculine, wiry concept. As said Jorg Litzenburger: “God drives Harley, the devil triumph.”
