A week before the season opener at the Nurburgring last month, the Kawasaki driver injured his hand during Supermoto training. That made life difficult for him there. A subsequent examination revealed that Stange had a broken scaphoid bone in his left wrist.

“At the moment we cannot assume that Christian will be able to drive in Zolder”, says team manager Evren Bischoff. “The hand was immobilized with a cast. When the cast comes off, he lacks some arm strength that he needs on the motorcycle.”

Stange started the current season as runner-up in the 2016 season and as a potential title favorite for 2017. With his injury, however, he only came in two tenth places at the Nurburgring. But there is no point in trying to catch up if he is not completely fit.

the Kawasaki ZX-6R of Saxony will not remain orphaned in Belgium, but the Dutchman Bryan Schouten attacks with it. Exactly the man who dueled with rod to the last run in 2016 and ultimately won the 600 title in the IDM before him.
