Sena has presented a new smart open face helmet with a fully integrated communication system. The so-called Sena Savage is available now and costs 399 euros.

Helmets with a fully integrated communication system are actually nothing really new. A fully integrated communication system in a jet helmet where the microphone cannot be seen, on the other hand, is more likely. The communication system specialists from Sena have developed a new model with the new open face helmet Savage, which is supposed to guarantee the highest speech quality even without a boom microphone.

The Sena Savage is fully operational right out of the box. A separate installation of the system is not necessary. The communication system is controlled using the so-called “Jog Dial” rotary knob and a small activation switch on the left side of the helmet. In addition, commands can be transmitted via smartphone voice control. There is also the option of forwarding commands using the optionally available remote control.

The new Sena Savage costs 399 euros.

Thanks to Bluetooth 4.1, a maximum of four participants should be able to communicate with one another within a range of 1.6 kilometers. The so-called “Advanced Noise Control” system is intended to ensure good voice quality and optimal outside noise shielding. In combination with a Bluetooth-enabled device, music and navigation commands can be received and, of course, phone calls can be made. An FM radio including ten preset stations is also available. The Sena Savage can be configured using a smartphone app. The device settings can be changed via the app. The stations of the FM radio can also be programmed here. There is also the option of defining speed dial numbers or updating the helmet’s firmware. The speaking time should be up to 11 hours.

Available in sizes M, L and XL

For the closure, Sena opted for a double D-ring closure. A USB port is also integrated in the chin strap of the helmet, with which the battery can be charged within three hours and, if the worst comes to the worst, a cable connection can be established.

The new Sena Savage is available in sizes M, L and XL. The smart open face helmet, which weighs 1,100 grams in size M, is manufactured in two outer shell sizes. It is initially available in matt black. A long or a short sun shield can be purchased as an option. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 399 euros.
