Already appeared in 2015 “Somewhere Else Tomorrow” and caused a sensation as an exciting, visually powerful travel documentary not only in the travel scene. Now is with “Somewhere Else Together” Part two appeared. The 115-minute film tells how Daniel, a trained advertising specialist from Dresden, and Joey from Berlin on their trip with two BMW GS around the world first crossed North and South America, then Africa. The pictures, taken without an accompanying film team and therefore always authentic, impress with their variety of colors and shapes. Everything is easy, everything is good, especially in Latin America, where the main concern of the two protagonists still lies in shaping the future together.

But with the arrival in Africa, the basic mood of the film soon changes from carefree to threatening, when a striking alternator on Joey’s R 100 GS turns the crossing of Angola into a race against time. The defect in the old BMW is just annoying and sucks on your nerves. But weeks later, the two travelers have to realize that this mishap may have saved their lives. The key scene gets under your skin.
And the rest of the film doesn’t gloss over anything either. It shows hardships and difficulties on the move, the world without make-up, but also and especially in Africa does not skimp on images of its magic and its wonders.
