Electric motorcycle from India

An ex-Tesla engineer wants to build electric motorcycles in India. The startup develops its machines under the SVM Bikes label.

M.ohanraj Ramaswamy has worked for the electric car pioneer Tesla in California for almost 20 years. In 2018, the Indian returned to his homeland to develop motorcycles with a purely electric drive with the startup Srivaru Motors he founded.

SVM Prana should come in 2019

So far, however, there is hardly any information about the upcoming product. A first sketch shows a fully disguised model with a sporty cut. The first key data mentioned are a top speed of over 100 km / h and a range of over 100 kilometers on one battery charge. The lithium-ion battery itself should be recharged for three to four hours. The name is also already certain – the electric motorcycle will be called SVM Prana.

According to a timeline on the company website, the first prototypes were tested in India in 2018 and the series specifications were determined. The production motorcycle is to be presented in 2019 and then delivered to the first customers. A second model is already planned for 2020.
