KTM does somersault
After a rather harmless rear-end collision on a country road, the Freiburg police were presented with a rare sight: a KTM 1290 Super Duke R in a rather unusual position. Or rather, position.

Sudden end of a Sunday tour. Because he was inattentive and apparently did not expect the driver of a silver VW Golf to brake uphill, a 30-year-old KTM driver crashed into the rear of the VW. The accident happened on the L 186, a small lane in the Black Forest that meanders from Waldkirch im Breisgau in the direction of the 1,241 meter high Kandel mountain.
Slight outcome of the accident
The impact apparently had some force, so that the KTM rider and his younger co-driver were thrown over the roof of the car. That sounds dramatic, but it turned out relatively lightly: The driver broke his hand in the accident. The pillion got away with the horror.
Noteworthy for the Freiburg police: The KTM 1290 Super Duke R had apparently rolled over backwards in the accident. And after the somersault backwards, the 177-horsepower bike landed upright on the handlebars and bench on the asphalt – and stopped like a gymnast on the hunt for posture. The picture clearly shows the dent in the front rim of the KTM that hit the rear edge of the VW. motorradonline wishes the KTM rider a speedy recovery.
