The middle Burgman, i.e. the Suzuki AN 400 Burgman, is getting a more dynamic exterior, technical detail improvements and should offer more driving comfort for the 2017 model year and thus on its 19th birthday.
M.ith the Burgman series, Suzuki has built a stable fan base in southern Europe; even in Germany the touring sofas with 125, 200, 400 and 650 cm³ are selling quite reasonably; Suzuki names 130,000 copies of the Burgman series sold worldwide in 2015.
As is so often the case, the best price / performance ratio can be found one floor below the top model, i.e. the 400 single-cylinder. To keep it that way, the Suzuki Burgman 400 was subjected to a thorough and careful update cure for 2017 – "The better is the enemy of the good", but also "never change a running system".
The styling was therefore carefully lighter and more compact, even a little sportier, in line with current customer tastes. At the same time, Suzuki wants to meet the high demands of customers "Luxury, quality, comfort and performance" continue to be fair and of course meet the Euro4 requirements.
Update details Suzuki AN 400 Burgman
- Engine optimized for more torque at low and medium speeds
- larger airbox for better power delivery and a more pleasant inlet sound
- Iridium spark plug for increased efficiency
- two 260 mm front brake discs, one 210 mm rear disc; new, 750 g lighter ABS control unit
- more torsion-resistant frame construction
- 15 inch front wheel
- 20 mm thicker seat pad for more comfort
- narrower bench and reduced running boards to make contact with the ground easier
- Front cladding and windshield significantly more compact with almost the same wind / weather protection
- LED headlights, LED taillights and LED position lights
- revised, clearer and enriched multifunction display
Other features such as the 42-liter compartment under the seat bench, a three-stage adjustable backrest pad for the driver, two compartments in the front panel (one of them with a 12-volt socket) and the parking brake have been retained in the Suzuki AN 400 Burgman.
