In 1962, actor Steve McQueen in the film “The Great Escape” jumped spectacularly over a fence that marked the border between the German Empire and Switzerland while escaping from a German prisoner-of-war camp with a triumph. A scene that made film history. However, McQueen’s stuntman Bud Ekins actually drove and jumped in this film scene.
