The ultra-light wheels from Thyssenkrupp Carbon Components can now also be purchased in the Louis branch. The accessories dealer is thus expanding its portfolio to include high-quality parts that have been manufactured in Germany.

The high-quality bikes from the German industrial group, or the subsidiary Thyssenkrupp Carbon Components founded in 2012, are now at the chain store Louis available. 40 stores are now selling these, expanding their portfolio to include a high-quality, small-series product made in Germany.

Carbon rims for numerous models

The lightweight wheels are currently available for various models from Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, including for example the BMW S 1000 R, the Yamaha YZF-R1, the Aprilia Tuono V4 or the Honda CBR 1000 RR. Braided and approved

BMW is already installing the rims in series for the HP4 Race model, and thanks to sales in the Louis branches, they are now accessible to everyone. They are also the world’s first carbon bikes to be approved for road use and with KBA number. They can therefore be installed without a separate TuV approval.

The unique braiding technique should offer particular stability.

The seamlessly processed carbon fibers are woven into a rim base in the world’s largest radial braiding system and thus achieve maximum strength. The hub connection comes with anodized, CNC-machined 6082 aluminum inserts. The spokes are filled with foam and are intended to provide particular stability and noticeably less vibrations.

Dates and prices

The maximum wheel load is 181 kilograms at the front and 272 kilograms at the rear. The size of the front wheel is 3.5 x 17 inches and that of the rear wheel is 6.0 x 17 inches. Depending on the model, the wheelset costs between 3,000 and 5,000 euros.
