BMW top seller in Germany from 2010 to 2019

As is well known, BMW has developed into the most successful motorcycle manufacturer in Germany. We show the top sellers in Germany from 2010 to 2019.

Gut 65,000 units of the R 1200 GS from 2010 to 2019 speak for themselves. To this day, the air-cooled Zwolfer-GS is the most popular BMW ever. The sharp increase in the number of registrations from 2013 to 2014 is due to the introduction of the (partially) water-cooled LC boxer in the R 1200 GS in addition to the then new R nineT. This engine later also powered the R, RT and RS.

218,241 new registrations between 2010 and 2019

The R 1250 GS has been even more successful since the end of 2018: almost 10,000 units had been registered in Germany by the end of 2019. That is enough for the tenth place of the entire decade, stamps the R 1250 GS as the best-selling motorcycle of the year! Compliments to the universal genius.

MOTORCYCLE.

218,241 BMW motorcycles were newly registered between 2010 and 2019.

It is the culmination of 40 years of GS history (s). BMW is helping less successful models with daily registrations: in 2019, two thirds of all F 850 GS and S 1000 RR and half of all S 1000 XR and R nineT were registered to legal entities – but only a good 15 percent of all R 1250 GS.

The three most successful BMW models of the last decade

1st place: BMW R 1200 GS

Manufacturer

The absolute bestseller is the R 1200 GS.

In 2010, the 1200 series received the 110 hp dohc engine. Today the water boxer bears the scepter as approval king and universal genius.

2nd place: BMW R 1200 R

Manufacturer

The R 1200 R registered a total of 12,743 new registrations between 2010 and 2019.

The Roadster is an almost perfect country motorcycle. And at BMW apparently the first choice for everyone who cannot or does not want to drive a GS and yet appreciate a beefy boxer.

3rd place: BMW F 800 R

The F 800 R also made it into the top 3.

The popular in-line twin is not pretty, but it’s good and economical. Thanks to a 360 degree ignition interval, an F sounds just like a boxer. The successor model’s 850 engine comes from China.
