For everyone who shouldn’t know yet: The first steps in the motorcycle clothing segment have Alpinestars Made with motocross boots half a century ago. The ankle-high Belize Drystar Oiled Leather Boots primarily appeal to bikers with an affinity for off-roading, for whom calf-high enduro boots are too heavy and too bulky.

Comfortable and waterproof

The many years of experience of the Italian shoemaker can be seen in the rustic shoes when you slip them on. The two buckles can be unhooked and generously allow entry. The interior is fluffy, surrounds the foot well and provides comfort with good padding that you would not expect from an off-road boot. Pressure points never occurred over several thousand kilometers and two years of continuous use. After this distance, the Belize did not show the slightest signs of wear.

And most importantly, the boots are still completely waterproof to this day. And otherwise? When shifting gears, you have to get used to the tall forefoot of the boots, possibly even moving the gear lever up. In terms of weight, the Belize boots, which weigh 2,600 grams per pair, are around one kilogram above comparable street boots. Conclusion: If you like an adventure look, you can wear this shoe without hesitation.

MOTORCYCLE check

MOTORRAD awards 4.5 out of 5 stars.

  • positive: the boots are very comfortable, waterproof and offer good protection
  • negative: the boots are relatively heavy and build high on the forefoot

The Alpinestars Belize Drystar is available in sizes from 40.5 to 48. The price is 260 euros.
