New Triumph Bonneville T100 for 2021
Stronger, lighter and with Euro 5

As part of the Euro 5 facelift, the Triumph Bonneville T100 receives an extensive update that, among other things, brings 10 hp more power.

The T100 marks the entry into Triumph’s Bonneville family. In the past it was often criticized for its rather meager performance with 55 hp – especially because it was not a lightweight at 232 kilos. That is now the end: she has lost 4 kilograms, of which the engine alone accounts for 2.9 kilograms – thanks to a lighter crankshaft, lighter balance shafts, thinner-walled clutch cover and a camshaft cover made of magnesium.

10 hp more for the Triumph Bonneville T100

But above all, the 900 cc twin has increased power by 10 hp. The engine now delivers 65 hp at 7,400 rpm, while the maximum torque of 80 Nm is available at 3,750 rpm. In addition, there is now an additional 500 rpm available until the rev counter reaches the red zone. The now Euro 5-compliant parallel twin should consume 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers. The tank still fits 14.5 liters of fuel.

Better quality brakes

The plus in performance rounds off the new Triumph Bonneville T100 from model year 2021 with a more powerful Brembo brake on the front wheel, the 2 pistons of which bite into a 310 disc. At the rear, 2 Nissin pistons and a 255 disc do their work unchanged.

New fork, USB socket and traction control

From model year 2021, the 32-spoke front wheel of the Triumph Bonneville T100 rotates between the 41 mm bars of a higher-quality cartridge fork, while 2 shock absorbers do their work at the rear. Together with increased performance and weight loss, the entry-level Bonnie should have become more agile and light-footed in handling.

Cruise control is available for the Bonneville T100 for a surcharge, traction control that can be switched off and a USB socket are standard equipment. The latter is located under the seat, which can be unlocked with a key.

Instruments and optics

In the cockpit of the 2021 Triumph Bonneville T100, a new round instrument with an integrated multifunction display that can be operated via a button on the handlebar provides information. Visually, however, it remains true to its classic look – with chrome-plated mirrors, handlebars, headlight surrounds and tank caps as well as piping on the seat, knee pads on the tank cutouts and the steel fender at the rear. In order not to break with the classic image, LED technology is only used in the rear light.

A2 driver’s license kit for Bonneville T100

An A2 driver’s license kit is also available for the Bonneville T100 on request. It consists of a throttle potentiometer and engine management software that Triumph dealers can easily install and, if necessary, remove again.

Plenty of accessories for the entry-level Bonnie

Triumph has 117 original accessories in its range especially for the Bonneville T100, including luggage solutions, seats and windows, heated grips, cruise control and a black exhaust system.

Service intervals and seat height

The service intervals of 16,000 kilometers should ensure low operating costs. The seat height is also low: 790 mm – together with a narrow step arch – provide a secure stance even for smaller drivers.

Prices, colors and availability

The new Bonneville T100 comes in 3 colors: black, red and white and blue and white. It will be available from dealers in Germany for EUR 10,650 (plus delivery costs) and in Austria for EUR 11,400 (including ancillary costs and NOVA) from April 2021.

Conclusion

Triumph makes entry into the Bonneville world even more attractive with the 2021 facelift. Although it costs 500 euros more than its predecessor, it is also stronger, lighter and equipped with higher quality equipment.
