The Vespa brand will celebrate its 75th birthday in 2021. To celebrate there are special models of the Vespa GTS and the Vespa Primavera.

On April 23, 1946, the first Vespa scooter was registered for a patent. The cult scooter will be 75 years old in 2021. The Piaggio Group is celebrating the anniversary with two special models based on the GTS and Primavera models, which will only be offered in the anniversary year. The Primavera is available with 50, 125 and 150 cm³, the GTS as 125 and 300 cc.

For the anniversary in metallic yellow

What all special models have in common is the paintwork in a special metallic yellow tone for the Piaggio “Giallo 75th” names. The flanks of the rear fenders and the front wheel cover have a painted 75, the tie on the front shield comes in pyrite yellow. Other features include a nubuck leather bench seat in smoke gray with piping, gray painted rims with a diamond finish and a variety of chrome-plated details, including the “Ties” -Ornaments, the badge on the front fender and the instrument surround, the heat shield on the silencer, the rear-view mirrors and only on the GTS the fold-away passenger footrests.

Leather bench and leather bag

The rear luggage rack, another distinctive feature of the Vespa 75, is also chrome-plated: it carries a round bag, the shape of which mimics the typical spare wheel holder of the past. The bag is made of velvety soft nubuck leather in the same color as the saddle. It is equipped with a shoulder strap and is attached to the luggage carrier with a quick release fastener. There is a waterproof cover as weather protection.

A distinguishing feature of the special models is also an anniversary badge on the leg shield. Anyone who buys one of the special models receives a special welcome package with the scooter. This includes a jacquard silk scarf, a vintage steel Vespa badge, a personal owner’s book and eight collector’s postcards with images from eight decades of Vespa history.

Conclusion

Vespa celebrates its 75th birthday. For the anniversary there are special models from GTS and Primavera in a special yellow tone and extended equipment. We would have hoped for a little more effort on the 75th of the cult scooter.
