Single-cylinder enduro bikes in travel outfits are practically extinct, apart from the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Voge is now preparing to revive this segment.

Even if the official German side is still pending confirmation, the first dealers are already advertising the new single-cylinder model in this country. In France, the DSX is already listed by the importer. The Voge 650 DSX should be available from summer 2021 – in the colors red, blue and black. The price should then be around 6,800 to 7,000 euros. As a full dresser with a complete aluminum case system including topcase, another 700 euros are higher.

A BMW at heart

But back to the drive. And that’s not a stranger in this country. The 652 cm³ single relies on liquid cooling, four-valve technology and injection and experienced its first spring in the BMW F650 GS. It sends its 47 hp, which are available at 6,750 tours, and 60 Nm torque (at 5,500 rpm) in compliance with Euro 5 via a five-speed gearbox and chain to the 17-inch rear wheel. The spoke rim is fitted with a tubeless tire size 150/70. At the front there is a 19-inch wheel with a 110/80 tire. It is decelerated by a 298-inch Nissin single-disc brake at the front and a 240-inch disc at the rear. The discs come in a wave cut and work together with a Bosch ABS.

The tubular steel frame is completed with a 53 USD fork with 180 mm travel at the front and a central spring strut at the rear – both come from the supplier KYB.

With a tank capacity of 16 liters, the Voge 650 DSX weighs 192 kilograms. The seat height is specified as 805 millimeters. Additional features include a color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, a tire pressure display, LED lights and an adjustable windshield.
