As a rule, the valve train works covertly, protected and covered by a cover. The accessory specialists from Whimsical have now developed transparent covers for the air-cooled four-valve boxer engines from BMW, which allow unusual insights into the valve train.

The transparent valve covers are made of a 5 millimeter thick technopolymer and should have a thermal application range of minus 50 to plus 180 degrees. The lids should remain stable even with permanent UV radiation. A scratch-resistant surface coating and sealing ensure lasting beauty. This means that the lids can supposedly come into contact with a wide variety of chemicals without any problems. Exception: brake fluid.
The transparent valve covers are simply exchanged for the original covers and there is a clear view of the valves and their function and action. The new plastic covers should not have any influence on the sound of the engine. The transparent XRay valve covers are available for various R 1200 models from GS to RT as well as various RnineT versions.
The price for the valve cover set is 749 euros.
