“There is a possibility that problems have arisen in the manufacturing process of this reflector, which means that the reflector does not fully reflect light incident from behind”, shared the Yamaha Motor Deutschland GmbH in writing on Thursday. The part therefore does not meet the requirements of the UN-ECE regulation on type approval.

Motorcycles from the construction period 2013 to 2020 are being recalled. Specifically, the following models are involved:

  • Nmax 125 (model code: SE931 / SEC71)
  • X-Max 125 (SEE61 / SEE64)
  • X-Max 300 (SH131 / SH134 / SH135 / SH081)
  • YZF-R3 (RH121 / RH071 / RH12D)
  • MT-03 (RH07K / RH125 / RH12L)
  • X-Max 400 (SH121 / SH124 / SH125)
  • XSR 700 (RM114)
  • Tenere 700 (DM071 / DM072 / DM081)
  • Tracer 700 (RM144 / RM301, photo)

Yamaha plans between six and twelve minutes to replace the reflector, depending on the model. All owners of affected machines should contact their dealer as soon as possible.
