Zero shows the new FXE and remains surprisingly close to the Huge study with the production model. Above all, the characteristic duck bill and the supermoto style have been taken over quite precisely.

So far there has been little more than a dark picture showing the silhouette of a machine that is strongly reminiscent of a supermoto. This picture fits with unearthed memories: Already in 2019 zero together with Huge Design SF put a Supermoto study on the wheels for the One Moto Show in Portland, which was very well received by the audience. Inspired by this success, Huge Design wanted his zero Put on the SM custom body kit for retrofitting. However, Zero preferred to buy the rights to his design. In 2021, the motorcycle manufacturer will start series production of the Supermoto sketched at the time and call it FXE.

Zero Motorcycles FXE

As expected, the technical bases are the company’s FX models. The new FXE stands out visually refreshingly from the FX and FXS. Above all, the docked rear with the towering rump makes the FXE much sharper and more dynamic than the well-known models. Following the sloping line over the significantly narrower bench, the duck’s bill, which is aligned at the same angle, draws the FXE almost aggressively. This is underlined by the 17-inch tires on the front of the unchanged long Showa fork. The FXE leaves no one in the dark about the capacity of the battery: the 7.2 is prominently placed on the plastic of the rear fairing. The lithium-ion battery has an output of 7.2 kWh. This should allow 161 kilometers in the city, regardless of the performance class in which the FXE can be ordered. There are two versions to choose from: For holders of the A2 driving license, a continuous output of 15 kW or 21 HP with a peak output of 44 HP is available as “open” Version can be ordered. With only 11 kW continuous output with the same peak output, a version for the A1 and B196 driving licenses is available, i.e. the 125 license. Regardless of the power, the air-cooled motor pushes a maximum of 106 Nm on the belt to the rear wheel. With this force only 135 kilograms have to be accelerated. At 135 km / h the propulsion is over.

Price, chassis, brakes, loading

For 13,650 euros and thus 500 euros more than the other FX, the new FXE offers a fully adjustable chassis from Showa and comes with an ABS from Bosch. At 178 millimeters at the front and 227 millimeters at the rear, the spring travel is the same as that of the FX and FXS and is generally generous. The charging time with the built-in charger is given by Zero as 9.2 hours on the 230 volt network. The fast charger can be ordered for 821 euros and the charging time halved. The new Zero FXE will be available from dealers from September 201.

How do you feel about the electric motorcycle??

Out of the question for me.

The future of the two-wheeler for urban traffic.

There is no getting around the electric motorcycle.

Conclusion

Under the acronym FXE, Zero obviously brings a supermoto with an electric drive. If it only comes halfway like the study from 2019, then it will be a really tasty e-motorcycle.
