It doesn’t get any more exclusive – the Desmosedici is nothing more than Ducati’s MotoGP racer with road approval.

The new monsters? Everything stays completely different! Or so. You can feel a little sorry for the engineers from Bologna. Should they create a completely new monster that is nevertheless immediately recognizable as such. The regular clientele was not to be scared off under any circumstances.
A tricky but apparently solvable task, as the new Monster 696 proves, with which the modernization of the "Monster Family" is being tackled. Because despite the 80 hp engine, the optically more dominant tank, the boldly projecting exhaust pipes and the beefy tubular space frame, the 7,950-euro monster remains true to its own essence. And that’s why her fan base will probably remain loyal to her.
Hardly there – already gone …
The Desmosedici RR – also known as the D16 RR – is not quite as cheap. The "Sedici" is Italian for "16", which refers to the number of valves in the L4 engine. But the D16 also offers two-wheeler fun of the most exclusive kind, because the RR is actually a MotoGP racer with road approval.
Almost 200 hp, carbon everywhere, chassis technology of the finest design, the price of 61,755 euros and the limited production to 1500 units ensure that the RR – incidentally the first commercially available four-cylinder from Ducati – will be a rare spectacle on German roads. Deliveries to customers will start in these weeks – which have been fixed for a long time. The entire production was already completely sold out in December. Well, dreams sell for almost any price.
The Venus of Superbikes
Another poster motif for the rooms of adolescents of all ages is the elegant and fast 1098 R, which as the goddess of the 1098 trio – we already know the 1098 and 1098 S – will take part in the World Superbike Championship. The step into the two-cylinder sports world of Ducati with the 848 should be a good deal cheaper. Cheerful 134 hp and the crisp single-sided swingarm of the Ducati super sports family make you want to chase corners.
The Hypermotard is also made for this, which is accompanied by an upgraded S variant. An upside-down fork from Marzocchi, a classy Ohlins rear shock absorber, the Brembo stoppers of the 1098 or black Marchesini rims are evidence of reaching into expensive supplier shelves. On the other hand, the Hypermotard S, with its 13,245 euros, is two big bills higher than its normal sister.

  1. A nice car from Bologna???
Una macchina literally means "a machine", but in Italian it means "a car". … A motorcycle is una moto.

  2. my useless comment
I find the look of some motorcycles simple "hot" (quote planks). Harley-Davidson for example is a real treat for my eyes. And occasionally I enjoy watching this TV show "American choppers" at. But that’s where my enthusiasm for motorcycles ends. Because far too many drivers drive far too aggressively, fast, dangerously and much more.a loudly.

  3. Assembled in Germany
If Wikipedia is to be believed, the 650cc single cylinder of the Rotax G models is made in China and the 450 single cylinder comes from Kymco in Taiwan. It will soon be called CMW instead of BMW?

  4. BMW G 450 X
is finally assembled in Berlin, the engine is made in China. Production was moved from Rotax to Loncin. Incidentally, the 650 engine is also produced there. So much for: "Made in Germany"

  5. BMW G450X
The ready-to-drive 199 kilos of the BMW G450X must be a misprint, as that would make the sports enduro completely unsuitable for off-road use.

  6. Please no more useless comments
Whether you need the bikes or not, no motorcycle fan begrudges car fans their USV or Carrera. So we can enjoy the partly priceless motorbikes.
