Bimota 1000 DB5 2005

Menus

It has been a long time since Bimota had been talked about. The small Italian manufacturer is pleased to announce for the Munich show a brand new machine: the DB5. A surprising, bestial motorcycle, almost a brute who would come to push his competitors with great blows of the shoulders. The design is daring, shocking, to ultimately exert a certain indescribable fascination. Decidedly, the Italians really know how to do it. Without being bad language, we can possibly distinguish a touch of GSX-R 1000 in the design of the optical unit as well as a bit of Benelli Tornado for fixing the mirrors. Whatever, the machine is impressive.
As often, the manufacturer uses a Ducati engine to propel this singular sports car. This is the twin 1000 DS which has recently been used in the Multistrada, Monster 1000 and SS. A modern yet authentic twin, can be a bit tight in pure power but full of charm and flavor. And in the frame of a Bimota 1000 DB5 2005Bimota, he can only express himself at best. The pots which evacuate its hoarse breath are 2 carbon silencers which greatly contribute to the visual identity of the rear end.
The frame of the Italian is a tubular trellis (like the swingarm, superb) connected to reinforced aluminum plates, all associated with Ohlins suspension elements. The fork is an inverted model, fitted as it should be with radially mounted brake calipers.
We impatiently await the claims of this thoroughbred. Announced as very light, the DB5 offers intense and meritorious driving pleasure, in the purest Bimota tradition..

Trial :

A Bimota is above all a work on 2 wheels. Then there is the motorcycle, its beauty, its values, and the claims it nurtures. The DB5 is not a competitor of the latest road-approved superbikes; she is only a sportswoman who seeks to please you to the point of abuse. No chrono to chase, just trajectories, curves, angles to negotiate with a superb machine that can be exhibited in a display case as well as in a paddock. Thus, unlike a Blockbuster machine, the DB5 does not impose a radical driving position on its pilot. It’s better to be comfortable, especially since you quickly squeeze your buttocks when you put them on a machine that is worth more than 25 times the minimum wage. On the technical sheet, the bike is not very heavy, and this can be clearly seen in the reactions and handling of the machine..
