BMW F 650 GS 2002

Menus

In its new version, the F 650 GS demonstrates much more originality than its previous version. The sport aspect does not prevent the trail from offering serious road capabilities. Still powered by the 4-valve Rotax, it receives injection and catalyzed exhaust with a lambda probe. At BMW, we don’t mess around with pollution. Injected, the mono poum-poume with remarkable flexibility. It is provided with a nice torque in the mid-range and exudes a real driving pleasure. An effort remains to be made on the side of the gearbox. Tonic, the mill allows to maintain a good cruising speed. The protection is adequate and the driver installed serenely. Adults will prefer a higher saddle, others will appreciate its accessibility.

With its new dress, the GS also inaugurates a new chassis. Made up of 2 side members and a rear triangle where the fuel tank is housed, it provides the bike with stability and efficiency. Thanks to its generous travel suspensions, the bike remains serene on poorly maintained roads. BM does not forget the practical side, with adjustable rear damping via a dial. Simple and fast when you have to adapt the bike to the duo and / or luggage. ABS is available as an option but is too sensitive from the rear.
Overall, the F 650 GS does not disappoint. It is indeed a BMW and it shows, especially in terms of price: it is the most expensive of the monos in its category. You can even have a 650 Transalp for a handful of dollars more. But a motorcycle struck by the brand with the propeller always exudes a particular seduction..
