BMW S 1000 RR Carbon Edition 2010

BMW is not going to half measures to introduce its first hypersport. First a full season in World Superbike to warm up…. Then, a Bol d’Or to work on the breath…. Then a little slap in the face for the rough numbers competition. 193 horses, the highest value on the market. And why not go further ?!?

This is what this S 1000 RR Carbon Edition does. No mystery, it’s all in the name. The Bavarian is fond of carbon parts, namely the fairing, the fender, a few covers, the seat backrest, and the Akrapovic exhaust to complete the pack. This small appendage allows the boiler to find even more force in the connecting rods. 10 additional horses and a little torque are added to the package. If it collapses at 4000 rpm, then the torque curve is much better filled in the mid-range. Power is also increased over most of the tachometer stroke..
I haven’t told you everything. Look on the machine to see if there are any little bonuses…. And yes, HP parts. The levers and rear controls come from the special performance catalog of Behème. DTC traction control, race ABS, alarm and shifter are also included. All delivered in Motorsport racing color. The only thing missing would be the Ohlins suspensions and we would have a great rival for the Ducati 1198 R Corse, in performance, luxury…. and price. With all that, the S 1000 RR Carbon Edition sells for 24,990 euros. It hurts the wallet, but only that of the Dutch. Ah…. I forgot to tell you that this special series was only for the Netherlands ?
