MNC: How did you get the idea for this book? ?

Lydia Truglio-Beaumont : It was my doctor, Doctor F., who asked me … That’s the only reason! Without him, I would never have thought about it. I guess that was part of my healing. MNC: How was your fall during the Africa Race ?

L. MNC: How long were you in a coma and then in rehabilitation ?

L. T.-B. : 5 days in "natural" and 14 days in "supernatural", then convalescence of one year in hospital then one year at home in day hospital. I am still followed in neurology and physiotherapy in a private practice in Nice for another three to five years.

MNC: Have you found a taste for life like Julien Toniutti, also victim of a serious motorcycle accident in a rally raid? ?

L. T.-B. : Not really … I find the desire to live only when I am in my biker world, on my motorcycle, in a speed competition … The little pleasure that I found, it is thanks to BMC who m ‘always welcomes at the top and a few other sponsors. Otherwise, I also had the taste to live when I was on a motorcycle with the REHM and the incredible solidarity towards me from the Italians who came to see me on the starting grid. But otherwise, once I take my helmet off, it’s "hard hard"…

L. T.-B. : Continue to heal myself while trying to drive my beautiful in Europe on the MotoGP circuits and training with BMC Moto, despite my new head of linnet and my new vision at half mast. And take a job as an employee to finance my passion "motorcycle".

MNC: What do you say to bikers who have suffered a serious fall like you? ?

L. T.-B. : To always keep hope, to believe in life and in yourself … This is the conclusion of my book. Whatever happens to you, never give up !
