Derbi is investing in niches other than its 50’s and 80’s market. Carrying out a gradual move upmarket, notably with the marketing of Nude and GPR in displacement 125, the Spanish manufacturer intends to give life to this astonishing model that is the Mulhacen. The first large-displacement motorcycle in Derbi history is a scrambler sprinkled with dirt-track spirit with a strong visual identity. The machine is powered by a mono 4 T of 659 cm3. A known mechanism and for good reason, it is the mill of the Yamaha XT 660. Initially a concept car, the Mulhacen seems destined to seduce bikers concerned with originality. With its nice little face, its compact size, its inverted fork with radial brake caliper, its fully digital dashboard, its stylish line and its nervous little side, the machine has not finished standing out. Especially by its strong price close exploding the bar of 7,000 euros. To justify this price, Derbi has no interest in missing out on the performance of its first “big” motorcycle..

For its arrival on the market, Derbi is launching a major operation: since Friday, May 26, it is possible to order one of the 100 Mulhacen in a limited and numbered edition on the site www.mulhacen.derbi.com. This series is also distinguished by a carbon cover on the tank; in addition, Derbi offers you a Berik brand jacket personalized with the Mulhacen 659 logo.

The term Mulhacen comes from Muley Hacen, penultimate king of Granada who according to legend was buried at the top of the highest peak of the Sierra Nevada and gave him his name..
