At the top of the Monster range, the 1200 S awaits thrill seekers. More powerful by 10 horsepower than the standard 1200 (145 in total), equipped with Ohlins suspensions, forged aluminum rims, and braked by Brembo M50 calipers borrowed from the big Panigale, this hot-blooded roadster is impatient to l idea of a good muscular trip. In addition, its electronics allow it to show many docility as needed (Bosch 9MP ABS, driving modes, triple injection mapping and traction control).
In Stripe version, the 1200 Monster S becomes even sportier visually. Its red color crossed at its full length by a double white band provides an effect of the most exhilarating for the eye. As on the 821 Stripe, this hot roadster is adorned with a small nose screen and an aluminum license plate holder; the latter is no longer attached to the swing arm but to the rear frame. Refined detail, the belt covers are in carbon. No technical or engine improvements appear to have been deemed necessary by the factory. Besides, try to come to the end of the potential of a roadster of this caliber….
Even more tempting, the Ducati 1200 Monster S Stripe requires a certain budget extension that is difficult to justify. This roadster still costs the same price as a Hypersport BMW S 1000 RR.
