Ducati 1000 MONSTER 2003

Menus

The myth of the monster, magnified, exceeded (by the S4R) remains that of a simple motorcycle, stripped down and strong in character. In order not to be eclipsed by the sister 800 with long teeth, Ducati offers this 1000 the new “Dual Spark” engine which was originally developed for the Multistrada but which also brilliantly equips this new monster and the 1000 SS. With performances close to the S4 but with a more typical 2-valve behavior, the Monster 1000 has become a tool that is both demonic and a tad more civilized! If, on paper, the gain is minimal – + 6 hp but 1 mkg of torque – the sensations on the handlebars make a huge leap forward. Available, virulent and angry, the engine of the Monster 1000 pushes with supercharged vigor. If it still hits the bottom, he’s become more accommodating in town. At mid-speed, it is ecstasy and better, it now has a higher draw. This does not prevent us from playing the box often, which is excellent after all. Side part-cycle, the rigidity remains imperial, firmness and imperturbability being in concert in the big curves. Braking is always on top.
