With the arrival of the Panigale V4, the 959 will become the only sports car in the range to be powered by a twin (except for the very expensive 1299 Final Edition). The opportunity to assert itself more, almost to take up the torch. But make no mistake. Most of the glory and image of the Superbike will go for the V4. However, with this Panigale 959 CORSE, we can expect a very strong coffee at the end of the curve..

However, the 959 Panigale has nothing to worry about when it comes to its potential. Galvanized by a generous block, it has plenty to do with many competitors. With the cylinder capacity inflation of the “small” Bologna Superbikes, it now produces as much power as the 999, the flagship of the range from 10 years ago..
The opportunity is good to release a more muscular, more premium, more effective series. And take out of the boxes an old name. We saw some beautiful Italians with the 848 and 1098 Corse Edition. The 959 takes it and gets a racing dress directly inspired by MotoGP, sprinkled with a matte complexion like on the 1299 Superleggera.
Top of the range proves to be fashionable: the 959 Corse is equipped with Akrapovic titanium exhausts, a lithium battery, an Ohlins steering damper and suspension elements from the same Swedish manufacturer. Fits a 43mm NIX 30 inverted fork and TTX36 shock absorber. Alas, the beauty retains its Brembo M4.32 brake calipers. Very good stuff, however – why alas? We would have liked M50 clamps, more in line with a race name. And a pair of forged rims, that would have been nice too.

With this Panigale 959 Corsica edition and the 1299 Panigale Final Edition, Ducati does not put to sleep but still offers a strong presence to its twin which has hammered several generations of trackers. The story does not end, it takes another form. The 959 Corse will thus offer a great taste of the track to the handle spins on the road..
