In the early 1970s, the small Italian manufacturer designed its first (and famous) twin. Nobody knows but the motorcycle world will not be the same after that. Ducati installs the desmodromic distribution engine in a new sports car: the 750 SS. The pilot Paul Smart races on a streamlined version at the 200 Miles of Imola and wins. That’s it, the legend of the 750 SS has just been born.
As a tribute to this fiery pilot, the brand is offering a version of its new (upcoming) SportClassic in the image of the exceptional sports car of the time. An authentic cafe racer powered by the engine and a chassis derived from the 1000 SS. A new work by Pierre Terblanche, a true projection of the future of the 1973 machine. If the design is nostalgic, the elements are very current: high quality Ohlins shock absorber, 1000 DS engine released in 2003, fine caliber inverted fork, anti-theft with coded key … and muscular price. 1000 copies will be produced but it will not be available before November 2005. The renaissance of the Ducati models of yesteryear haunts you but the Paul Smart leaves you unmoved … Linger on the Sport or the GT.
