Harley-Davidson 1131 V-ROD VRSCA 2003

Could it be a wind of madness blowing over Milwaukee? In its gusts mix and slip unceremoniously ideas that jostle the design offices of the American manufacturer. At Harley-Davidson, we are very conservative. So imagine the storm we wanted to install in a custom, a liquid-cooled twin, double ACT and 4 valves per cylinder. This mill is an upheaval at Harley. Moreover, its name is none other than Revolution. The manufacturer has entrusted its Superbike mechanics (yes, yes, it’s true!) To Porsche to make it a production motorcycle engine. After the operation of the German engineers, the twin has little to do with either the competition engine, or with any H-D mechanics. In the V-rod, this 1130 cm3 comes out 115 hp, that is to say 50 hp more than the big 1450 Twin Cam (which equips practically the entire range, from the Fat Boy to the Electra Glide, except of Sportsters). A boiler that perfectly suits the aesthetics of this dragster-custom.

Because that’s how the V-rod is defined. A very distinctive machine with boiling blood. But above all in a machine that cannot leave indifferent. Long, low, cut all in muscle, the machine imposes itself, does not lose an opportunity to flatter the eye – passers-by are always staring admiringly. Solid wheels, huge engine, sparkling chrome and superb aluminum fake fuel tank, that’s class. Even a non-amateur can only admire.
