Held launches the evolution of the safety vest for motorcyclists. If the current safety vests only rely on the reflection of light, this creates the new one hero Light System (HLS) its own light.

Can be retrofitted in prepared jackets

The HLS relies on LED modules from Osram, which can be retrofitted in jackets prepared for this purpose. The modules are supplied with power from a battery pack via a USB connection. Equipped with these LED lights, a significantly better visibility of the driver should be achieved in poor lighting conditions.

The HLS set consists of two white and two red LED modules that are connected with a USB connection cable. To use the HLS set, you need a compatible Held jacket or safety vest with the »LED Prepared« feature and a standard battery pack (power bank) as a power source.

Set price around 80 euros

The HLS can be installed in a few simple steps: the LED set is inserted into the jacket or vest through the open zipper in the back compartment. Then the ends of the white light guides are inserted into the respective openings in the chest area of the item of clothing from the inside and pushed completely through the mesh fabric tube. In the same way, the red light guides are threaded into the back area of the jacket or vest.

After all four LED modules have been placed in the designated places, the USB cable is fed through the cable duct of the jacket or safety vest. The system is now ready for use and can be switched on at any time by connecting the battery pack or switched off by disconnecting it.

The HLS set costs just under 80 euros and will be available from spring 2019. With a 4,000 mAh battery, the operating time should be around 7 hours.

The system can currently be combined with the Atacama Top adventure jacket, the Yoshima touring jacket and the Flashlight LED safety vest.
