Update for the Neo-Sport Cafe 1,000s

The Honda CB 1000 R, the flagship of the Neo Sports Cafe series, will be given a facelift for the 2021 model year and will be given a Black Edition.

The Honda received minor visual updates VS.B 1000 R for the last model year. For 2021 it will now be made fit for Euro 5 and will undergo a facelift: New details such as the exposed aluminum subframe, the more compact radiator trim, the airbox cover and the smaller license plate holder set it apart from its predecessor. The headlight is also undergoing slight changes: the outer band is no longer completely round, but opens up towards the top, which emphasizes the new incline towards the rear. In addition, the Honda CB 1000 R is rolling into the 2021 model year on new cast aluminum rims. The 6-inch rear wheel rim is fitted with a 190/55 ZR17 tire, the front wheel has a 120/70 ZR17 tire.

5 inch TFT, voice control, USB

A clearly visible 5-inch TFT display in the cockpit sets the pace that voice control via smartphone allows – headset and Bluetooth provided. And since such functions are usually not particularly battery-friendly, there is a USB charging socket under the driver’s seat.

The driver can choose between four layouts for the display. The mode selected from three possible driving modes is then also displayed there (Rain, Standard, Sport). In addition, the driver can freely configure the user mode according to his taste and select the characteristics of the power delivery of the engine, the engine brake and the traction control.

Engine derived from the CBR 1000 RR

Derived from the Fireblade, the 998 cm³ DOHC four-cylinder can be seen in the CB 1000 R, which still provides 145 hp at 10,500 rpm and 104 Nm at 8,250 rpm. Only the setup for the fuel injection is new here, which according to Honda for a "improved power output and sharper response as well as compliance with the Euro 5 standard" has been optimized. A short gear ratio should ensure lively acceleration values between 30 and 130 km / h, while the anti-hopping clutch simplifies hard and fast gear changes.

Honda

The Honda CB 1000 R still weighs 212 kilograms, comes with a mono backbone steel frame, 830 mm seat height, adjustable Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP), Showa shock absorber adjustable in rebound and spring preload, and radially mounted four -piston brake calipers with floating 310 mm brake discs at the front and two-piston brake caliper with 256 mm brake disc at the rear.

Automatic hazard warning lights

The rear turn signals of the Honda CB 1000 R have an automatic hazard warning light function. This means that the hazard warning lights flash during emergency braking to warn other road users of emergency braking. To do this, the system compares the speed difference between the front and rear wheels and, depending on the situation, calculates the point in time at which the hazard warning lights are deactivated again.
