Honda CB 125 R 2021: New engine, more chassis

Honda CB 125 R model year 2021

New engine and much more chassis

The smallest member of the Neo Sports Cafe series will receive a brand new DOHC 4-valve engine including a crisp increase in power and torque for the 2021 model year.

Honda is making its entry-level naked bike for the 2021 model year much more attractive. A completely new DOHC 4-valve engine will in future give the 125 HP 15 hp at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 11.6 Nm at 8,000 rpm. This puts the 125cc up by 1.6 HP and 1.2 Nm and now reaches the permitted class limit. With a consumption of only 2.1 liters, ranges of over 470 kilometers should be possible with one tank of fuel.

Thanks to the additional power, the top speed increases from 101 km / h to 105 km / h, with 200 meters being covered in 11.3 seconds. The transmission still has six gears and of course the new single meets the Euro 5 standard.

Fat fork from the 650s

The tubular steel frame itself is retained, new reinforcements on the swing arm mounting and in the swing arm itself ensure more stability. A real novelty on a 125cc is the 41cc Big Piston USD fork from Showa. It is the same fork that Honda uses in the models CBR 650 R and CB 650 R of the model year 2021. Only the spring rate and damping have been adapted to the 125cc.

The ready-to-drive Honda CB 125 R, which weighs just under 130 kilograms, is delayed at the front by a 296 washer in combination with a radially attached four-piston caliper. The rear 220 mm brake disc works with a single piston caliper. ABS is on board. The 17-inch cast rims with a 110/70 tire at the front and a 150/60 tire at the rear are also taken over unchanged.

The Neo Sports Cafe design line, including the LED lighting, remains untouched. The LC display in the cockpit is also used.
