The Tourist Trophy is one of the most famous (and dangerous) races in the world. However, the machines paying homage to this ordeal are not legion. In 2007, Suzuki released special order limited series 600, 750, and 1000 GSX-Rs from the Isle of Man. But otherwise….

Honda is sticking to it in turn. The manufacturer presents a CBR 1000…. sorry, 2 CBR 1000 RR Limited Edition TT to bring the glory of 2 exceptional pilots: John McGuinness and Ian Hutchinson. The latter won a large handful of races at the 2010 TT, becoming legendary and achieving a level of fame close to that of Joey Dunlop. As for McGuinness, we no longer present this pilot whose record is breathtaking.
These CBRs are available in 2 colors: pearl white (Hutchinson model), with a victory crest on the fairing sides and a circuit map drawn from the fork crown to the seat backrest via the tank. The John McGuinness model is painted in a subtle black colourway: it evokes a big pint of the famous Irish beer Guinness; the top of the tank and the fork crown are painted white / beige to represent the foam. The fairing panels are adorned with a circuit layout, the name of the pilot and his average lap speed record in the Tourist Trophy, 131.578 mph (or about 211 km / h on a departmental road, with 264 turns on 60 km and peaks exceeding 300 km / h).

These limited-series CBR 1000 RRs cost 1,000 pounds more than the standard model. For the price, we would have liked some bonuses, such as a pot that goes well or more racing damping. 1,000 pounds? This means that…. ? Eh yes. That these are motorcycles intended for the English market. It doesn’t surprise us anymore: the GSX-R TT editions had done the same to us.
