“We had our schedule for the coming year as good as finished, but then there were some changes at short notice,” says series manager Normann Broy. “But we want to have our 2020 calendar fixed within the next three weeks.” As the organizer and promoter of the series, Motor Presse Stuttgart wants to provide all those involved in IDM with a foundation for the coming season as quickly as possible.

In any case, the following are set:

  • the German Speedweek in Oschersleben from June 3rd to 6th, 2020
  • the appearance of the IDM Superbike 1000 on the Nurburgring at the Truck Grand Prix
  • the season highlight in Schleiz from July 24th to 26th, 2020 and
  • the IDM weekend in Most from August 16 to 18, 2020.

The dates for the IDM season opener and the IDM final are open. “The quality of the routes and events is our priority, so we take our time,” says Normann Broy. “Our clear goal is to continue the positive trend at IDM.”

The current Assen GP circuit, the Cathedral of Motorsport, will definitely be part of the IDM calendar again. There are options on new routes such as the Sachsenring or the Red Bull Ring in Austria. “We want to offer routes that are particularly attractive for motorcycles,” says Broy. It is also clear that the Belgian Zolder circuit will be missing from the 2020 IDM calendar.
