Jawa Perak (2020)

New model in bobber garb

With the Jawa Perak, a new model of the traditional brand will roll onto the streets in 2020 in bobber style – but only in India and Asia.

Actually would have Jawa Perak should celebrate their market launch in 2019. The market launch should now take place in 2020 with a slight delay. Anyone looking for the next German Jawa sales partner on the Internet by return of post will be disappointed. The Jawa Perak is only intended for the Asian region and is produced by the Indian company Mahindra, which owns the rights to the Jawa brand in Asia. Nevertheless, we didn’t want to withhold the optically successful bobber from you.

Simple equipment meets classic optics

The engine uses the liquid-cooled single with 334 cm³, which is also installed in the other two Jawas available in Asia, called Jawa and Jawa Forty Two. However, the Perak engine should provide a little more power than the two sister models with 30 HP. Also new are a new exhaust system, a longer swing arm and of course a completely different look. As is typical for Bobber, the remaining components are kept rather simple. Included are, for example, analog round instruments, a subtle but well-designed black paintwork, a single seat bench in brown, black-painted rims and gold lettering that are placed in a few places on the motorcycle.

Jawa

The Jawa Perak knows how to please with its chic look. Unfortunately, it is unfortunately withheld from the European market.

When it comes to tires, Jawa “India” relies on the dimensions 100 / 90-18 at the front and 140 / 70-17 at the rear. Also included are a 280 mm disc at the front, ABS and a monoshock shock absorber that can be adjusted in seven stages. Jawa specifies 750 mm for the seat height. The new Jawa Perak should weigh 179 kilograms empty. The new model can be pre-ordered in India from January 1, 2020. Delivery is scheduled to begin in April. Converted, the new Bobber model from Jawa costs just under 2,500 euros. Unfortunately, she will never make it to Europe.

Mahindra owns trademark rights in Asia

The Indian company Mahindra has owned the rights to the Jawa brand for the Indian and Asian regions since 2016. The Jawa Perak presented here is just one of numerous models produced by the Mahindra subsidiary Classic Legends Private Limited. Incidentally, the Czech core markets also continue to produce motorcycles for Europe. Models with 350 cm³ and 660 cm³ are currently available.

Conclusion

The Jawa Perak is visually appealing. The equipment is rather simple, which, however, fits well with the concept of the motorcycle. It’s a shame that the model is only intended for the Asian region.
