Kawasaki ZX-6RR 600 2007

A supersport is 600 cm3 cubic – and that’s it! Maybe not in England, but in Japan, it will become so again. Small reminder: Kawasaki maintained since 2002 two ZX-6 R in its range, a 636 for the backpackers and a 600 for the trackers. For 2007, the manufacturer no longer worries about its bastard displacement in order to concentrate on the development of a single model.. Bye bye the 636. The engine manufacturers were thus able to bring together their teams in order to bring us a new engine to make the powder talk with the 600 Ninja 2007. An engine that takes even more revs, with polished intake ducts, offering more of torque at mid-range and reduced dimensions.

The search for speed appears to be one of the major axes of development. With a new chassis, Kawa claims to have particularly favored high speeds entering and exiting bends. Mention is also made of an extremely worked aerodynamics.
It doesn’t seem obvious at first glance. The Ninja’s fairing seems to have changed little; visually. We will recognize the new ZX-6 RR thanks to its new face – the eyes are inspired by those of the ZX-10 R, a night light points to the tip of the nose, and the central air intake is transformed, losing its Kawa shape for a more … common triangle –
and his new posterior. The space devoted to the exhaust eats one end of the hull. Here, this exhaust, moreover, what happened to it? Still unique, we have now grafted 2 nostrils to breathe. All the road fittings are fixed below, to be able to dismantle them very quickly in order to rush on the track.
To look good, the Kawa modernizes its tracker peripherals: still the inverted fork but new brake calipers, a revised swingarm, and despite the lack of information, we would not be surprised that the suspensions evolve, with different compression speeds. Pleasant surprise: the dashboard has changed and we are celebrating the great return of a clearly visible needle tachometer. This new speedometer unit seems nicely designed and will undoubtedly be much more functional than the previous one. And the power? The Ninja won 2 more horses. But that is not enough to seal it at the forefront of the category. When you’re one of the heaviest in Supersports, it quickly hurts against the clock. The weight penalizes her against the super-light CBR 600 RR; When it comes to engine, it gets beaten up by the R6 turbineuse and the surprising 675 Daytona. But it can count on its excellent front axle … It remains to be seen who is your best judge: a stopwatch or a crush. ?
