Free chassis upgrade

Owners of a KTM 1290 Super Duke GT built between 2016 and 2018 can now upgrade to a further developed chassis set-up of the latest generation.

For the 2019 model year, the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT received numerous upgrades, including a new chassis setup for the semi-active WP chassis.

The new set-up should bring a noticeable improvement in performance in the Comfort, Street and Sport damping settings. The response behavior and the feedback are also said to have improved significantly through the use of new algorithms. As a result, the Comfort setting is now even more comfortable and Sport is even sportier.

Retrofitting not possible

The “anti-dive function“, which reduces the fork dipping when braking, has been removed from street mode and is now only active in comfort mode. All modifications are based on pure software changes. The chassis hardware was carried over from the 1290 Super Duke GT models built between 2016 and 2018. Accordingly, KTM is now offering a software update for the older Super Duke GT models that brings the old chassis up to date.

The optional software upgrade is provided by KTM free of charge. It usually takes 30 minutes of working time (for a fee), during which the software is installed and tested in an authorized KTM workshop. It is then no longer possible to upgrade to the old software version.
