2012 KTM 990 Adventure R

Menus

Like the cousins, the KTM Adventure is entitled to its R version. Its presentation goes hand in hand with the facelift of the standard Adventure. With the new SM-R and SM-T, Katoche really has the wind in its sails in 2009 on the sporting and traveling All Terrain..

A sport version of a big road trail, you had to dare ! What has the orange brand concocted for us for this replacement of the old S version? First, more flexibility, power, less vibration thanks to a new crankshaft, and no less than 17 additional horsepower coming out of the LC8 block. The Adventure R is 115 hp for 207 kg – that’s a cause! Better-quality WP suspensions feature greater travel, from 210mm to 265mm, both front and rear.

The 2 kg gained on the standard Adventure won’t show much, nor will the slight facelift on the adventurer. Discreet but present strokes of the pencils assert themselves on the fairing, while retaining this massive side and cut with a billhook. More serious than radiant, the colors chosen oscillate between the dark and the hard-hitting. The matte black dress is adorned with a few touches of white, all discreetly excited by an orange frame and a narrower two-tone saddle. A new dashboard completes the whole thing, for this great lady of the roads who only asks to get excited at her handlebars.
