One or the other may have heard of Zongshen. The author has known the company since 2001 from the World Endurance Championship. At that time, the Chinese started their own team for the first time. Not on a Zongshen, however, but on a Suzuki GSX-R, if I’m not mistaken. Quote from one of our drivers back then: “The boys trust God in their tires.” 20 years later Zongshen and super athlete again. This time, however, not in Spa with 1,000 cc, but in England with 125 cc, under the Lexmoto label and with under-seat exhaust. Which brings us back to 2001.

The small island athlete is powered by a single cylinder with 125 cubic meters. The water-cooled single develops 13.8 hp at 8,750 tours and brings the LXS to 110 km / h over six gears. A slim 155 kilos stretch to a jagged 1,313 millimeter wheelbase with a seat height of a moderate 790 millimeters. Unusual, again somewhat 1990s style, are the tire dimensions with a diameter of 16 inches. Braking is carried out by a partially integral hydraulic brake system with a semi-floating double disc at the front and a single disc with a floating caliper at the rear. The simple LCD instrument provides the most basic information.

Conclusion

Beautiful colorful world. The production of millions in China’s two-wheeler factories allows a wide range of models to be selected for the European markets. What is sold in England as Lexmoto could run under a completely different brand via a German importer. But it doesn’t have to be.
