Two-stroke enduro for beginners
The Spanish off-road specialist GasGas is targeting enduro beginners with the new EC Ranger. The Jedermann-Offroader will be available at dealerships with 200 and 300 cc from November 2018.
F.For people who like to move off the beaten track, but do not have competitive thoughts right away, GasGas has added the EC Ranger to its model range for the 2019 model year. Tea GasGas EC Ranger, which is available with 200 and 300 cm³, is more or less a more civil version of the corresponding competitor enduro. GasGas advertises it as the ideal formula for everyone who "light enduro" and "Trail excursion" love and want to enjoy off-road driving like never before without having to forego the comfort of the new generation of off-road motorcycles.
Less seat height, more torque
In order to make things easier for the hobby driver, the performance characteristics of the two-stroke engines have been reduced. Peak performance down, torque up in the lower speed range. In addition, the units received new cylinders and new heads.

Adapted to this, there is a new exhaust from Tecnigas. The kick starter was dispensed with, the carburettor engines are only brought to life with an electric starter. But if you want, you can retrofit the Kickstarter again.
The GasGas EC Ranger takes over the tubular steel frame and aluminum swing arm from the competition models, but the fully adjustable spring elements at the front and rear have been modified. The 46 Kayaba fork was shortened to 270 mm of travel, and the shock absorber by the same manufacturer was cut back to 119 mm. This is said to have reduced the seat height by 40 to 930 mm. In addition, a new bench should offer a little more comfort.
Prices from 6,290 euros
The brakes were also taken a step back. The 260 mm disc at the front and the 240 mm disc on the rear wheel now come from NG, the pliers from Braktec. Visually, the Euro4 homologated GasGas EC Ranger relies on white plastic add-on parts and red GasGas lettering. The EC Ranger, which weighs 108 kilograms dry, is available as a 200 at prices from 6,290 euros, the 300 from 6,490 euros. There are also additional costs of 129 euros each.
