Moto-Guzzi CALIFORNIA 1100 90th anniversary 2012

Menus

This California could be limited to its superb color and claim to be a limited edition. But the respect deserves to linger on it, because this Guzzi represents many years of motorcycle production. First, this a motorcycle whose original design dates back 40 years – quite a score for a bike.. Then, she celebrates the 90 years of the brand. Who can boast of being there for so long? BMW, maybe … Created in 1916, 5 years before Guzzi; except that Behème only released its R32 in 1923 – 2 years before, the Italian presented its first 499 cm3.

After this little time travel, let’s come back to this 90th anniversary limited series. Declined from a Vintage 1100, this California plays the retro card to the full with a two-tone white and orange paint emblazoned with a very typical 1930s Guzzi logo. The saddle, specific to this version, is in brown leather. The equipment includes, among other things, a limited series identification plate, a set of side cases, the screen, additional headlights, coupled braking, spoke rims, chrome, and especially the large twin-cylinder cooled by tune – who might just bow out with this 40-year-old Calif. Indeed, a new generation with a liquid 1400 is expected for 2013. Suddenly, it is much more than a collector; this could be the last page of a big chapter in motorcycle history.
