Moto-Guzzi V7 750 Stone 2014

Along with the evolution of its engine, the V7 Classic evolved and became V7 Stone – a designation formerly attached to the California, in its stripped-down version. In fact, the range is available in 3 versions: the V7 presented here, which is the access model, then the V7 Special, more vintage, and the V7 Racer. No real changes on the silhouette side, except for the dark color, the addition of fork gaiters, the presence of spoke rims, the increase in the tank to 22 liters and a revised price. 2014 removes the chrome on the mirrors, which have become black, and removes the metal passenger handles.

Like all models powered by the 744 cm2 block, the V7 benefits from a big update to its twin cylinder. There are no less than 70% of new pieces, both inside and out. The fins of the cylinder heads soften their edges then are covered with a new cylinder head cover frankly more classy. The candle takes the opportunity to hide and the compression ratio to increase; it drops to 10.2: 1. In the cylinders, a lot has been revised: new combustion chambers, new pistons and rings, and modified intake. This is now done via a single 38 mm injection body. The gas flow passes through a Y section to feed the two bowls. At the output, there is a lambda probe for each cylinder. In addition to improved fuel economy, this revised unit announces better performance, with 48 horsepower now and more than 6 mkg of torque. The gearbox also announces a better pleasure. In 2014, a more compact alternator was installed.

After the W 800, 865 Bonneville and the late Ducati SportClassic, Vintage machines found a market and the Mandello firm jumped on the bandwagon. When your name is Guzzi, and you have in your family tree a line as famous as that of the V7s of yesteryear, why would you deprive yourself of a beautiful machine with a retro style??

The return of the V7s … A delicious little motorcycle with a look from another era, with that little charm that makes you want to try it right away. The Sixties designed this machine, the Breva 750 lent it its engine. A small 744 cm3 without fuss but with a gimbal, the typical Guzzi piston stroke and which helps to contain the price of this machine. If the silhouette classifies it in the Vintage category, the equipment is just as wise as the 48 horsepower of the twin. A standard fork with a single brake disc, a very classic double tubular steel cradle frame, 2 rear shocks … Do you need more? Certainly not. Especially since the V7 Stone announces a more obvious road behavior coupled with an engine with more enthusiasm. We are in the presence of a pleasure motorbike, which smacks of the ride between hazelnuts and charm.
