Market overview of electric motorcycles in Germany

All available e-motorcycles and e-scooters

Only two major motorcycle manufacturers have an e-motorcycle in their portfolio. We have put together for you the selection of electric motorcycles and electric scooters in Germany in the market overview.

Since the 2019 season, in addition to MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, the MotoE class has also started as part of selected GP weekends: There are 18 starters in this racing class, their bikes without exception on the E.Electric sports motorcycle Energica Ego based. The basic version of the bullet costs from 27,468 euros, weighs around 260 kilos and provides 107 kW (145 hp) of power and 200 Nm of maximum torque.

The Electric Trial World Championship, on the other hand, is already entering its third round in 2019. With Yamaha and GasGas, two manufacturers are currently represented in this class. The Yamaha TY-E electric trial bike has already been tested by MOTORRAD volunteer and professional trialer Mona Pekarek.

The situation is similar on the motorcycle market in Germany. KTM and Harley are so far the only two major motorcycle manufacturers that each have an electric motorcycle in their portfolio – Harley-Davidson with the LiveWire from September 2019, KTM with the Freeride-E since 2014, whose further development is now called Freeride E- XC.

Harley-davidson

In July we drove the production version of the Harley-Davidson LiveWire and we have to admit: This electric Harley from Milwaukee bangs in a way that has never been seen in the world of lazy shaking irons!

Zero currently offers the largest portfolio in terms of electric motorcycles: Zero SR / F, Zero S / SR, Zero DS / DSR, Zero FX and Zero FXS are available at prices starting at 12,190 euros. The Zero SR / F is the latest model from the American manufacturer and costs from 20,490 euros.

In addition to the electric motorcycles available in Germany, we have also put together an overview of electric scooters, whereby we made sure that a sales partner is on site and thus customer service, spare parts supply and availability are guaranteed.
