All Duels - The two big arms ... of iron! - A matter of taste

When a Harley plays the scoundrel to make European bikers crazy and a Triumph comes out XXL chrome to bait American fans, it inevitably results in a duel rich in testosterone! What big arm is needed? Comparative test.

A matter of taste

Retaining one or the other of these cruisers will first and foremost be emotional. If we fall for an engine or a look, the Harley will most often win the bet: it is a motorcycle that we appreciate almost as much for its qualities as for its faults, integral parts of its personality..

But if we come back to more objective criteria, the Thunderbird is undoubtedly better suited to cut the road, alone or in pairs. Less demanding and less typical in its behavior, it will delight heavy riders.

Finally, do not count on your wallet to advise you at the time of the choice because the two machines are very similar in their prices: 15 625 € for the American in color black (+ 300 for the "Pearl") against 14 990 € for English (+ 300 € for two-tone versions).

Neutral, safe and an excellent kilometer swallower, the Triumph logically wins at points. But by seeking at all costs to do in the consensual, the Thunderbird becomes almost boring, both statically and dynamically. Less successful and even more cruiser-like, the Fat Bob, on the other hand, shows a bewitching charm.
