Viñales in pole position of the Austrian MotoGP GP ahead of Miller and Quartararo

After 5 minutes in the dry, Fabio Quartararo on his private Yam ‘and Maverick Viñales on the official traded first place with times in 1’23, soon joined by Jack Miller on his private Ducati, then by Joan Mir on his official Suzuki and finally by Franco Morbidelli on his private Yamaha two minutes from the end.

At mid-session, Pol Espargaro on his official KTM was only 7th ahead of Valentino Rossi and Johann Zarco. The strong man in free practice was even passed in the very last minutes by Andrea Dovizioso, who took the best time on the following lap in 1.23.618 before being dislodged by Viñales in 1’23.450 !
