EBR motorcycles expected for October in France
A few days ago, EBR proudly unveiled its next model derived from its sporty 1190 RX: the 1190 SX maxiroadster. This motorcycle has potential, especially in France, the largest European market. Site takes stock with the director of EBR Europe.
According to Edwin Belonje, director of EBR Europe, the 1190 RX and 1190 SX should land in France from October. But to do this, the American brand EBR (Erik Buell Racing) still has to find an importer, restrict its motorcycles and set their prices..
"We are in talks with several interested customers, dealers and distributors", informs us the big European boss,"we haven’t made the final decision yet, but we would prefer to work with an importer who knows the French market. We hope to announce a partnership this summer".
First motorcycle market in Europe and a big fan of roadsters – so Mister Buell’s future streetfighter ?! -, our country is also famous for its exceptional law of "horseless". A real headache for manufacturers, and especially those who generate low volumes, as is the case with EBR today…
"The French market is unfortunately still under the 100 horsepower law and we are working on it at the moment.", Edwin Belonje tells Site."As I speak to you, we have a stock of 1190 RX in our European headquarters, but which cannot be registered in France.".
At some of our neighbors, the new EBRs are already on sale: "the prices of the 1190 RX are now set in most European countries: € 16,998 excluding tax in Germany, € 19,998 excluding tax in Holland, € 17,400 including tax in Italy".
