Yamaha exhibits its motorcycles and scooters at the Paris auto show

Yamaha France will be present for the first time at the Paris Motor Show, from October 1 to 16, Porte de Versailles, with a stand exhibiting no less than eleven models of motorcycles and scooters. One way to anticipate the postponement of the Motorcycle Show ?

"This is the first time that Yamaha has exhibited at the Mondial de l’Automobile, the largest motor show in the world with more than 1.2 million admissions", notes Yamaha Motor France, which will take place from October 1 to 16. on a 75 m2 stand opposite pavilion 1.

The presence of the number 1 in the French two-wheeler market owes nothing to chance: in addition to the desire to attract potential customers, in particular "commuters" sensitive to the qualities of 125 cc scooters and the, the French subsidiary also anticipates the absence of the motorcycle and scooter show initially planned at Porte de Versailles.

A motorcycle area at the Auto Show … While waiting for the Paris Air Show ?

The cancellation has not yet been formalized, but the big meeting of French motorcycles and scooters, now biannual, would indeed not take place next winter. In question, as during its previous cancellation, an unfavorable context due to a two-wheeled market still fragile in France and the heavy competition of the Eicma of Milan positioned just before. The significant cost per square meter of exhibition at Porte de Versailles also undoubtedly explains the reluctance of the exhibiting manufacturers, who are also present at Intermot in Cologne and then at Eicma in Milan this year. In other words, large exhibition costs to be expected in 2016, necessarily to be taken into account in the 2017 budgets.

The confirmation of this bad news takes the form of the creation of an unprecedented "Moto Space" at the 2016 Motor Show, decided at the last minute to meet the demand of manufacturers worried about the postponement of the motorcycle show, such as Yamaha.

Several insistent rumors point to a postponement of the French meeting to spring 2018, probably at Le Bourget which certainly turns out to be more out of the way but less expensive.
