New equipment and special series: BMW F750GS and F850GS celebrate 40 years of GS
BMW celebrates 40 years of its "GS" trail saga, initiated in 1980 with the R80G / S, and whose flagship R1250GS is the best-selling heavy-duty motorcycle in the world. The German brand celebrates this anniversary with F750GS and F850GS "40 years GS Edition". Presentation.

In all, "more than 1.2 million BMW GS" have passed during these four decades, all models combined: the "benchmark" R1250GS – successively increased from 1100, 1150 and 1200 since 1994 -, but also the popular F750GS / F850GS and the most confidential G310GS made in India by TVS. Another welcome improvement on the F850GS: its very short windshield is now adjustable, which is not a luxury given the low protection efficiency of the previous one! The twin-cylinder of 853 cc – common to both motorcycles – does not undergo any modification and always develops 77 hp and 83 Nm on the "false" 750 and 95 hp and 92 Nm on the "real" 850.

Both will receive new colors for 2020 to discover below and are available in a new "40 years GS Edition" series. These special editions for the 40 years of the GS are immediately recognizable by their yellow and black livery … which inevitably evokes the Suzuki V-Strom trails !
These F750GS and F850Gs "40 years GS Edition" – available in standard and Adventure versions – also receive gold-spoke rims, standard handguards and engine protection bars. As in 2019, the F750GS is also available in a "Sport" version (blue) while the F850GS is coupled with a Rally version which is colored blue-gray-red on the standard or khaki and red on the F850GS Adventure.
