Market reports - First half of 2014: Indian and Victory market report - Used INDIAN VICTORY

Indian arrives this year from the USA alongside Victory. These two brands registered 193 and 186 motorcycles in the first half of 2014. Their manager in France, Pierre Audoin, gives his impressions to Site readers. Review and interview.

Site: The French motorcycle market is on the rise again in … Is it thanks to good weather, new products, dealers, demo vehicle registrations, poor scores from previous years ?!
Pierre Audoin (manager France Indian and Victory)
: The weather and the bad score of previous years are in our opinion the two determining factors.

MNC: For you, what is the highlight of this first half of the year? ?
P. A.
: The ultra-aging of the clientele. Fifty-year-olds remain the sole holders of purchasing power.

MNC: Regarding your two brands, what is your assessment of your first six months 2014? ?
P. A.
: Indian has a very good start with a target exceeded by 150%. Victory begins to really exist on the French market and the quality of the products is now recognized. The 5-year warranty has accelerated this trend.

MNC: How is your second semester going? ?
P. A.
: We are going to continue our plan to acquire notoriety for Victory (, general press, Demo Tour, etc.) and we are going to launch the sequel for Indian … Then we have to bring even more help to our network , because the work of the concessionaire is very difficult: training, profitability, ease of work, sharing of experiences, etc..

MNC: Finally, lowering speed limits on the roads make you fear a decrease in the attraction of the French for motorcycles and scooters? ?
P. A.
: I think that the market will increasingly segment itself with more and more tightness between the segments. Some two-wheeled segments will continue to progress and others will decline, but overall the number of two-wheelers will decrease. Our "Customs / Cruiser / Classic / Touring" segment will undoubtedly increase: it is up to us to make it more and more accessible…
