Market reports - Motorcycle market: September 2013, copy of 2012 - September 2013, copy of 2012 ...

It is not nice to copy, and it even becomes stupid if your neighbor is not good … This is the case of September 2013 which modeled its results on those of September 2012: -21.3 % in 125 and -5.2% in large cubes… Figures, charts and analysis.

September 2013, copy of 2012…

Already last year, Site qualified the return to school as "difficult". MNC readers – who, as everyone knows, have a little more memory than others – remember that registrations of 125 cc in France had plunged by -21.2% and that those of larger engines had declined. -7.1% (read our).

So, what about this month of September 2013 which stupidly copied the results of 2012? No matter how hard we look, we can find no excuse, not even that of working days: 21 last month against 20 in September 2012…

After a radiant summer (unfortunately only in terms of weather, read our), the motorcycle market experienced a 2013 re-entry "even more difficult" than last year, copying its regressions on those of September 2012 and maintaining the declines recorded in these last nine months.

Among the 125s, we can observe a new drop in registrations: -21.3% compared to the already bad month of September 2012. While the leaders Honda (-1%), Yamaha (-8.4%) and MBK (-11 , 4%) limit breakage, Sym (-27.3%) Kymco (-18.4%), Suzuki (-45.2%) and KTM (-22.7%) suffer more.

We could also be worried about Piaggio and Peugeot (respectively -24.5% and -55.1%) who let the two Japanese manufacturers fly … But it is useless: the two European manufacturers are fighting on the juicy three-wheeler market !

On the large-displacement side, three-wheelers do not muddy the waters – Harley-Davidson is however attacking the Can-Am Spyder in France – and Yamaha continues to dominate the debates (+ 7.3% compared to September 2012) thanks to its Tmax of course, but also its MT-09.

Behind the n ° 1, Honda (-20.2%) and BMW (-15.2%) are down this month while Kawasaki stabilizes (-1.9%) and Suzuki leaves – a little – the head above water (+ 0.3%). Triumph (+ 10.2%), KTM (+ 29.9%) and even Ducati (+16.8) collect the good points and Harley-Davidson (-3.9%) cruise at the pace of the market.
